Welcome to the Ottawa Valley Music Festival website. Use this site to find out all about the OVMF - an annual series of choral music concerts which takes place from April to September throughout the Ottawa Valley featuring the Festival Chorus supported by a professional orchestra and soloists.
In addition to the annual Concert Series, the Festival Chorus presents special concerts at various times throughout the year, including outreach, arts festivals and performances at fundraising events for other not-for-profit organisations.
Sadly, the Ottawa Valley Music Festival looses its founding Artistic Director after 18 years of bringing choral and classical music to the Ottawa Valley. As founding director in 1993, Mervin started with a dream of making classical music of the finest quality accessible to all in the Ottawa Valley and beyond; this dream has become reality as the OVMF Concert experience is truly a joyous celebration of the coming together of beautiful music and an appreciative audience. We hope to keep his dream alive; detail of the coming season will be available shortly.
The OVMF also assists promising young musicians by providing opportunities to perform in professional settings, as well as by providing scholarships to students in the Ottawa Valley wishing to pursue a career in music.
We invite you to take a weekend drive into the Ottawa valley and experience all it has to offer - Quiet country escapes, exciting family adventures, shopping in quaint villages, and best of all - the finest choral music in Eastern Ontario

September 25, 2011- Mervin's last concert as Artistic Director
After being at the helm of the Artistic Direction of chorus and orchestra of the Ottawa Valley Music Festival for eighteen years, Mervin Fick has resigned from his post as Artistic Director.Mervin is looking forward to returning to the Valley in the future as guest conductor and clinician. We cannot thank him enough for all he has done.
